I've been in this restaurant a couple of times in it's previous incarnation, and I loved it. This time I was not impressed. The place is simple and unassuming, what would be fine if the food would make up for it. But I had a terrine de foie gras as starter, and it was just ok. A big slice of foie gras and toasted dark bread. The chutney of dried fruit was just a sample. Plus a green leaf mix. It was not bad, but nothing special. The chutney may have given it some character but it was a tiny amount. Then raviolis de chèvre. It was more a salad with a bit pasta than a pasta dish. The chef apparently loves this mix of leaves. The sauce was good. The difficult part was to find the goat's cheese. The last piece of pasta had a tiny amount of cheese inside. It didn't really look like stuffed pasta. Most of it had no filling. And overcooked. It was a good Friday, maybe the chef was on vacation. The service, well, there was a nice woman but she didn't really seem to have any training as waiter.
Such an amazing culinary experience. Everything from the cold mushroom soup as an aperitif to the wine paired with the meal was amazing. Would go back!
During our 4 days of Paris visit, we came here twice because it was simply amazing! Recommended by our friends in Paris, it was not touristy at all, filled with locals, food was simple but really good. Price was reasonable, and service was excellent. I would definitely come back !
Yes dine here! All around wonderful dining experience. Small menu all beautifully presented and delicious. Fixed prices are reasonable. A gem located on a quiet street near Luxembourg Gardens. Chose La Maison du Jardin over cafe/restaurant “in the heart of…” and was pleased!
My friends and I enjoyed a meal here and I would highly recommend it. The service was friendly and the dishes came out in a timely manner and were well cooked and flavorful. I started with the tomato gazpacho soup with mozzarella and then had the sea bream. The fish was served with a delicious curry sauce. For dessert I tried the floating island which was also very tasty!
We had a great lunch here with friends. They were very accommodating with special dietary requests. While the menu is small the food was perfectly cooked and all of us found something that suited us. The lunch menu du jour included a glass of very good wine and coffee.
Really fantastic! The food was wonderful and the service was amazing. There was the option to get either 2 of three courses for 40€ or all three for 47€ per person. We went with all three and were given a menu with dishes for each course on it. Once we ordered, we got our Aperitif which was a lovely mushroom mousse that almost tasted chocolatey, and was really presented well. We scarfed that down, and it really boded well for the rest of the meal. Some highlights were the sweet pickled beetroot mousse, the white asparagus, the veal. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and with a total bill of about 110€ for food and drinks, it is a lovely time for what you pay for. Would go again!
This is what I consider a true French dining experience. The restaurant is intimate, modest and unassuming. The food is magical! Very unexpected with lots of fragrant flavors and textures. The service was great and the patrons were very friendly. We did the tasting menu and shared a bottle of champagne. I will be back!
